Optomap Retinal Imaging
Your eyesight is priceless, and we are here to protect it! Vision-threatening diseases often have no outward signs or symptoms in the early stages, so our practice has begun using state-of-the-art technology with Optomap and iWellness exams to assess the health of your eyes.
At Schuster Family Eyecare, we recommend including the Optomap digital widefield and Optovue iWellness exams during every annual eye exam. The Optomap and iWellness exams are quick, non-invasive digital scans of the tissue at the back surface of the eyes, which help us obtain a more detailed view of your overall eye health without typically having to dilate the eyes. This advanced, state-of-the-art technology creates a 200 degree high definition digital image of the retina (Optomap) as well as cross-sectional images of the retina (iWellness) in a matter of seconds. As part of your exam pre-testing, we will perform the Optomap and iWellness exams which the doctor will review with you during your examination.
